Our Team
Celebrations Party & Rental was established in 2003 in Ames, Iowa. It is a special event company specializing in rentals for corporations, schools, weddings, private parties and more. It is also currently the only party supply/costume store in Ames. It is owned by Stephanie Taylor Burnett who bought an existing small party store in Boone, added rental inventory and moved it to Ames. Over the years the company has continued to grow and moved into larger locations over several years. During that time both the party store and rental store inventory expanded. In 2015 we bought out our competition and added tents to our inventory. After 16 years of business we have moved into our final location at 302 S. 3rd Street in Ames. That building houses our party supply store as well as our linen operations. We now carry a huge rental selection of linens in over 50 colors and styles. We built a new 8000 square ft warehouse in 2017 to the west of our existing building that houses our tent, chair, table and staging inventory. John Burnett, Stephanie’s husband joined the business in 2015 and runs the tent operations. As of 2019 Celebrations maintains an inventory of over 1000 tables, 4000 chairs, over 15 styles of centerpieces, décor for wedding ceremonies/receptions, concession machines, audio and lighting equipment and much more. Our Celebrations family is proud to continue to expand our offerings while maintaining our operations as a family owned company that puts our customers first.
STEPHANIE & JOHN BURNETT
Owners
Stephanie has owned Celebrations since 2003. She currently still runs the company, working in the retail store and doing a lot of paperwork! She still enjoys going out on jobsites when possible also. Stephanie has a son and a daughter, Logan 19, a freshman at Iowa State, and Josie, a junior in high school. In her free time she enjoys annoying her kids, playing pickleball, reading, and boating. She is also a horrible cook and a great dancer.
John joined Celebrations in 2016 and became the manager for the tent/tables/chairs section of the company. He handles all the day to day operations of the rental department. He has two teenage daughters. His hobbies include watching you tube on his ipad, boating, watching Iowa State football and basketball, drinking Miller Lite, grilling out and knitting blankets.

Janel is originally from Iowa City. She has been a manager at Celebrations for two years now and been with the company over 15. She has a son Charles who is headed to Central College to play baseball, a daughter Madysin who is in high school, and another son Colton who is 4. Charles and Madysin also work for the company and we plan to recruit Colton one day too. In her free time Janel enjoys playing the banjo and square dancing.

Montrell Washington
Head Foreman
Montrell has been our head foreman for the past several years. He is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He lives with his girlfriend Jenna in Gilbert, Iowa and has a 7 year son named Osiris. In his free time he enjoys building computers and loves boxing. He also likes to latch hook and collect stamps.

Logan recently graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in business management. He lives in West Des Moines with his sheepadoodle Maverick and enjoys video gaming in his spare time. He also has a passion for rollerskating and breakdancing.
